The very good thing I found out about Daz is the speed that items can be downloaded from the site. The 'phone-home' feature of Poser has probably given Daz a hell of a lot of customers, that's why I'm looking elsewhere. still haven't seen much positive thinking. I've read a few reviews of Filament on this site. I'm not sure which video card Daz prefers, I was looking for a spec for the new computer really. I saw the Filament feature, this really interested me. But at this point in time almost every new thing out there is for Daz Studio. I used it in the past, I hated the lack of control of the library and no user manual. Not much point in using old programs, I don't like the new version of Poser so I looked towards Daz Studio. my computer is getting very tired and I want to upgrade. I use Poser, I load everything by hand and can edit all the files. The firefly filter in IRAY seems to be working a little less well. Support for older figures and assets seem to be fine (I tested G8, G3, and G2). Other Windows applications (like File Explorer or Firefox) are less prone to lagging when I try to use them during rendering. My GPU temps are 4-5 degrees cooler when rendering than previously. It seems like IRAY renders use more VRAM then before. Render times in IRAY seem to be mostly the same on my RTX 2060. It's kind of annoying to see ads, but it's not obtrusive. There is now an ad on the "New Scene" dialogue box. This seems to be significant, as previously it took 3-4 minutes to load a G8 figure and it now takes 20-30 seconds. One of the touted features is faster load times for assets. My custom actions, workspace, panes content, scripts, plugins and tools were just where I expected them to be. When I opened 4.22, everything was there. I then instructed DIM to download and install 4.22. I still had 4.12 on my PC afterward and it opened, but my workspace customizations were gone and there was an error about a missing file on startup. This was a little convoluted, as I thought I was downloading the new version but instead DIM said it was uninstalling 4.12. I installed it through DIM, as I don't have or use Daz Connect.
